So at the beginning of this month there was the Beach Hop festival (50s/60s hot rod and culture fest) down in Whangamata. This year we'd managed to put on a fashion show there, and so the months leading up to it was just CRAZY times. I basically lived at work, even though i was only a part-timer. i'd be sewing things in my lunch break, after work until maybe 10/11pm, and then was back in there in the weekends sewing sewing sewing.
i got fabric and buttons dyed, shirts printed and button-holed.. jackets embroidered..
plus i was also doing a set of shirts for local punk/ska/reggae band King Cannons. Will be taking promo pics of them this weekend.
otherwise check out my gallery for pics from the fashion show. it went so fantastically well! the MC guy LOVED it, so hopefully that'll mean a good chance for being able to do it again next year.
other stuff:
been in the NZ Herald's fashion section recently, and am looking forward to being in local magazine Black.
also been made redundant from Illicit. Sucks, but i'm gonna spend some time figuring out what I want to do with my stuff; write an official business plan and all. going to continue with some freelance stuff in the meantime. meaning i may have to set up my own workspace, now that I lost the one at work. arrgh expenses.
and check out my website!! i designed it, but didn't technically build it, but can manage the content myself from now

i'd love to travel to check out other rockabilly cultures, ours is so teeny tiny. but that's all good, cos it makes us like a lil family. think i'll check out things like Wintersun in Oz as my first 'scene step' outta NZ. THEN the world...
I've been diggin' your boss style for a while.
By the way, TankGirl is completely underrated.
